which means
“No free flow: pain,
free flow: no pain”

  7. Pain In The Arm

On November of 2011 I was in a car accident where I ripped two ligaments in the back of my neck. My doctor asked that I wear a neck brace for 3 weeks and put me on heavy painkillers and anti-inflammatory medication. As time progressed, my neck got weaker and I had severe pain in the back of my neck, shoulders, lower back, arms, and even in my feet. I could not walk straight, felt my muscles in constant tension, and began to get frequent headaches. I was concerned that the atrophy of not using my neck muscles would lead to months of physical therapy which might not be covered by my insurance company. My boyfriend recommended Acupuncture to me and found Dr. Wang on the Internet. At first I was hesitant because I had never had acupuncture and was afraid the needles would hurt. Regardless, I was in so much pain I was willing to try anything!

When I arrived at my very first session with Dr. Wang, I could hardly walk and had difficulty getting out of the car. To my surprise, I didn’t feel the needles, and at the end of my session stood up and felt a complete release of all the tensed muscles. I could walk straight, felt no pain but was just very tired (perhaps from carrying so much tension for so long). I was amazed by the results of the acupuncture and herbs. For the next few days I had pain pop up in random parts of my body and thus went back to Dr. Wang for more work. She explained this was the body still working through the injury as the energy moved to different places. After six sessions I was going on long walks, started to hike again, and felt at 90% recuperation.

Overall, my experience with Dr. Wang has been transformational as I am now a full believer of Integrated Medicine and Acupuncture. I was so pleased I recommended Dr. Wang to several of my friends, one who even took his baby into acupuncture and was extremely happy with the results. I was relieved to find out that my insurance company covered the Acupuncture and that I could take herbs as natural remedies to the painkillers I was originally prescribed. I look forward to knowing Dr. Wang for a very long time, even if I have to drive 1.5 hours to see her. She is a true healer and a master of her craft!
